Watch The Top 3 Cybersecurity Podcast Videos Filmed In 2018

Cybercrime Magazine Editors’ picks for our favorite interviews this year

Northport, N.Y. – Nov. 1, 2018

Choosing our favorite cybersecurity videos for 2018 was no easy chore – but we’ve done it.

This year has been a whirlwind of video production at Cybercrime Magazine. After moving into our new East Coast offices, we built out our very own Cybercrime Studios. Then our Host, Georgia Reid, sat down with one impressive cybersecurity expert after the next. And she took our studio on the road for some on-location interviews.

While we can’t say that one podcast video is any better than another, these 3 were selected as our favorites.

Top 3 Cybersecurity Podcast Videos

Robert Herjavec. We traveled to Morristown, N.J. to film a 30-minute interview with Robert, a Shark on ABC’s Shark Tank, and CEO of his namesake firm Herjavec Group. Afterwards, just for fun, Georgia and Robert walked over to a table, put on the headphones, and got talking to each other. Our videographer captured the impromptu podcast, in a corner of the room that left a lot to be desired insofar as lighting and sound goes. But Robert was great. He declared “I’m Batman” – something that young people can relate to. “If you know cyber, then you have a guaranteed job… for life,” says Robert.

Dr. Jay. Wow. That’s the word that immediately came to our minds after we filmed Xerox’s Chief Information Security Officer in our studios. Talk about a rare breed. Dr. Jay, the former Deputy CIO at the White House, is so good in front of a camera that she could easily be a TV anchor. When it comes to her grasp on cyber, there’s very few CISOs that can match the former U.S. Department of Defense Cryptologic Engineer. IT infrastructure security – check. IoT security – check. Cloud security – check. Mobile security – check. How to recruit and retain cybercrime fighters – check. Dr. Jay informed that she’s an avid NBA fan. But trust us, you really don’t want to go one-on-one with her. She left our crew gasping for air… and there were five of us!

Ken Xie. We were invited into New York City to film an interview with Ken Xie, founder, Chairman, and CEO of Fortinet, the world’s third largest cybersecurity company. The man is truly a visionary in every sense of the word – and we had the privilege of going one-on-one with Ken around how he got started in the tech field (out of a garage in Palo Alto, Calif.), how he started up and grew Fortinet, and where the company is headed. Very few founders stick around long enough to see their startups hit $100 million, let alone a billion. But Ken’s been there from the beginning – and now Fortinet is a multi-billion dollar cybersecurity juggernaut. Why? Because Ken has the unique ability to look ahead, which keeps Fortinet on the cutting edge of cyber. His insights on 5G, and other topics, were real eye-openers for us.

It’s hard to limit our commentary to just 3 videos when we’ve filmed so many incredible people. If you asked us on another day, then we could just have easily counted others into the top 3.

We’ll be back towards the end of the year to recap some new podcast interviews we’ll be filming during Q4. Stay tuned!
