Best Of Kevin Mitnick: My Favorite Hack
World’s most famous hacker
Abracadabra! Kevin Mitnick, the world’s most famous hacker, suddenly appears in our East Coast studios on Oct. 19, 2019, a Saturday afternoon, at 4:38 p.m. It’s a brisk, sunny day and Mitnick’s hair is windswept from the breeze off Northport Harbor. He’s decked out in black from head to toe — glasses, t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. We stare. Then we produce 5 original videos with Mitnick. His favorite hack took place at a McDonald’s drive-thru and he tells us the whole story in this video.
Steve Wozniak Phreaks Out On The History Of Hacking
Apple co-founder takes us back to the 1970s
Steve Wozniak learned about phreaking from the 1971 Esquire article “Secrets of the Little Blue Box” by Ron Rosenbaum. Woz called his friend, Steve Jobs, and read it to him. Woz and Jobs went on to make history by building a blue box, which was digital and more technologically advanced compared to the electronics analog models being used by phone phreaks at that time. “What a trip that was,” says Woz. “I had tricks in there that I never even equaled in my Apple designs, believe it or not.”
