Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that by 2025, cybercrime will cost the world $10.5 trillion annually, a massive increase from $3 trillion in 2015, with much of the rise attributed to the use of advanced technologies like LLMs.

Take attribution – many have used an LLM to write “in the voice of”- but attribution is that much more difficult in an AI world, because threat actors can mimic the techniques, comments, tools, and TTPs. False flag events become more prevalent, such as the attack on U.S. service members’ wives.

LLMs are accelerating the arms race between defenders and threat actors, lowering the barrier to entry, and allowing attacks to be more complex, more insidious, and more adaptive.
