In 1982, Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and Leonard Adleman founded RSA Security, a computer and network security company specializing in encryption and encryption standards.
The first RSA Conference took place nine years later in the fall of 1991 and featured a single panel on digital signature standards used to authenticate message recipients and detect alterations to exchanged information.
Jim Bidzos, creator of the RSA Conference tells Steve Morgan, founder of Cybersecurity Ventures, the true story of why the original conference was conceived and how it grew and became the world’s largest gathering of security professionals.
Bidzos served as president and CEO of RSA Security from 1986 to 1999, and then served as RSA’s vice chairman from 1999 to 2002.
This special episode on the Cybercrime Magazine Podcast is part of a series of interviews covering the history of the RSA Conference.
