Lisle, Ill.-based DeVry University announced the launch of its cutting-edge cyber range platform offering realistic, immersive simulations that mimic real-world cyber threats. Learners can practice and master a wide range of cybersecurity techniques, from analytics and investigation to repulsion and remediation.
Emphasizing the need for its new platform, Devry says that the frequency of cyberattacks (specifically ransomware) on governments, businesses, consumers, and devices is expected to rise over the next eight years, occurring approximately every two seconds by 2031, according to Cybersecurity Ventures.
Separately, a new cybersecurity pathway program at Houston College and Career Academy is getting students ready for careers in a field that desperately needs them. Cybersecurity Ventures reports that there are around 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs globally. Warner Robins, Ga.-based HCCA is an extension of the programs of local high schools and is an off-campus center of Central Georgia Technical College.
