Major media outlets globally reported Feb. 21, 2025 that a $1.5 billion (USD) hack of Bybit was a record-setting cyberattack. The attack has been linked to North Korea’s Lazarus group, a state-sponsored hacking collective.

Investigative journalist Geoff White recently came on the Cybercrime Magazine Podcast to share his unique insights into the Bybit Hack. He also covered the broader North Korean cyber threat, including how the country’s hackers developed their skills, the IT-worker issue that corporate America is facing, and more.

White is a UK freelance TV News Journalist for BBC News, Sky News, and Channel 4 News. He was a technology correspondent for Channel 4 News when he won multiple awards for his work on the Snowden leaks, the hacking of Britain’s largest ISP TalkTalk and his exposés of fraud in the internet dating industry.
