Pittsburgh, Pa. — Oct. 28, 2019
For any dynamic field — such as information technology or cybersecurity — live events are a necessary part of the job. The sense of community you feel while attending is unprecedented, which is precisely why everyone in the industry should make it a point to attend at least one per year.
Since there are only a couple of months left in 2019, you better get planning if you haven’t participated in an event yet.
Choosing a conference is always a challenge because there are so many. To make choosing a little easier, here is a list of some of the best November cybersecurity events.
1. Hackfest 2019 — Nov. 1 in Quebec City, Canada
As one of Canada’s most significant annual hacking conferences, Hackfest 2019 will bring together thousands of security experts from all over the world. Over two days, attendees will be able to measure their skills against various training exercises, including capture the flag, hacking games, contests and more.
Attendees will also be able to show off their IT and security expertise and match up with other professionals.
2. The Long Con 2019 — Nov. 2 in Winnipeg, Canada
Originally introduced in 2013 under the name BSides Winnipeg, The Long Con has since expanded to an incredible conference run by a nonprofit corporation specifically for the infosec community.
It follows a traditional conference format with keynotes, discussion panels and activities. However, participation, conversation and collaboration are highly encouraged to keep everyone engaged and involved.

7. ACM Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Security (AISEC) — Nov. 15 in London, United Kingdom
It’s no secret that artificial intelligence and machine learning have a huge role to play in our future, but what does that mean for information security?
