Oleria, a company providing adaptive and autonomous identity security solutions, raised $33.1 million in a Series A funding round earlier this year. The investment, which brings the company’s total funding to over $40 million, is led by Evolution Equity Partners with participation from Salesforce Ventures, Tapestry VC, and Zscaler.

This funding round enables Oleria to ramp up hiring to accelerate its product innovation, including AI capabilities, as well as its go-to-market strategy.

Jim Alkove, co-founder and CEO of Oleria, joined Steve Morgan, editor-in-chief at Cybercrime Magazine, for a remote video interview this week.

Alkove, an ex-Microsoft corporate vice president and former chief trust officer at Salesforce, told TechCrunch that he’d “long been vexed” by the challenge of delivering cybersecurity while not preventing business partners from doing their jobs.

He talks to Morgan about Oleria’s culture, mission and more.
