Cybersecurity Ventures named GM Sectec to its 2022 edition of the “Cybersecurity Hot 150 Companies To Watch,” which will be announced on Apr. 15.

The third annual list of the Hot 150, compiled by Cybersecurity Ventures, recognizes the most innovative companies in the cybersecurity market. The list consists of pure-play companies focused exclusively or primarily on cybersecurity. All companies earn their spot based on merit, there is no “pay-to-play,” no cost to apply or to be listed.

GM Sectec is one of a handful of companies called out ahead of the official list next month. “GM Sectec is a shoo-in and we decided to acknowledge them now in support of their 50-plus years in business, a rarity in our industry,” says Steve Morgan, founder of Cybersecurity Ventures and editor-in-chief at Cybercrime Magazine.

“We’re proud and privileged to be with a select group of companies globally that are on a mission to help the industry and society with something that has become such a challenge,” says Héctor Guillermo Martinez, president at GM Sectec.

Over the past year, GM Sectec has grown its business internationally. “We’ve opened operations in Nigeria, Kenya, Singapore, Taiwan, and Malaysia,” notes Martinez.  “Now we’re covering over 56 countries out of our field operations from Puerto Rico, in Florida, Mexico, Panama, Columbia, Brazil, Chile, Spain and Australia.”

In 2020, GM Sectec celebrated its golden jubilee. Their employees have a strong sense of mission and dedication, and they give back to the community, says Martinez, who is proud of the company’s heritage and committed to keeping it that way.

GM Sectec has decades of experience working with Visa, which has forged a “very special” relationship in Martinez’s eyes. The two companies inked a strategic agreement and GM Sectec is now a Visa preferred cybersecurity partner.

“There are no shortcuts to success in our industry,” says Morgan. “There’s no amount of venture capital that could buy the years of experience and customer and partner trust that GM Sectec has built up over the past five decades.”
