External identity is the personal data of executives, employees, and their families that attackers can find and exploit outside company systems. VanishID is tackling that exposure across the entire workforce. They’ve also partnered with outtake, a developer of agents that find the impersonations and scams already targeting those people.

Matt Polack, founder and CEO at VanishID sat down with Alex Dhillon, CEO at outtake, for a fireside chat during Black Hat USA 2026 in Las Vegas.

“It’s the wild west,” says Polack, on the AI era, and the victims aren’t so obvious. “People often think that the CEO in the corner office is the biggest target,” but usually it’s high value personnel on the periphy with privileged access to critical apps and data.

C-suite executives are definitely targets. But an attacker may find the executive assistant to the CFO on LinkedIn or elsewhere on social media, and that person is the exploit.

Cybercriminals are bypassing security controls using exposed employee identity data, and AI is accelerating the problem at a rate never seen before. VanishID is promising an agentic powered control built to close this gap.
