The Cybercrime Magazine YouTube Channel received a Verification Badge this week.
A black check mark (tick) now appears next to our name, which means that YouTube has verified our channel.
To be eligible for verification, a channel must have at least 100,000 subscribers, and it must have two-step verification turned on, and meet other requirements by YouTube.
Active engagement YouTube channels that regularly post and interact with their audience are far more likely to be approved than dormant ones, regardless of subscriber count, according to vidIQ.
“The Verification Badge means that our YouTube channel is authentic and complete, and that we follow security guidelines,” says Steve Morgan, Editor-in-Chief at Cybercrime Magazine.
While the Verification Badge requirements may seem stringent, they’re essential for ensuring that only authentic and established channels are granted the checkmark.
The Cybercrime Magazine YouTube Channel surpassed 100,000 subscribers in 2024, and 1 million subscribers in 2025, when YouTube’s CEO presented us with a Gold Creator Award.
