Cybercrime will cost the world $10.5 trillion annually by 2025;

Cryptocrime will inflict global damages costing $30 billion annually by 2025;

Ransomware will cost its victims around $265 billion annually by 2031;

There are 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs in 2024, up from a Cisco estimate of 1 million openings a decade ago.

Aside from the Cybersecurity Ventures data, the researchers at Astra Security rounded up a summary of costs around DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks, phishing, BEC (business email compromise) schemes, social media scams, and much more.

These pentesters say that cybercrime can be targeted at any individual or organization of any size that has assets in cyberspace, and their blog drives home the point.
